The Asia Member Care Network (AMCN) Conference began in 2008 under the leadership of Drs. Wilson Phang, David Tan, and a working committee of seven members. Since its beginning, AMCN has had partners and sponsors – Barnabas International (who has helped us process registration for many years!), Heartstream Resources USA/New Zealand, and The Well, Thailand. They believed and supported us financially and in prayer in our vision and desire, to this day.
On March 28, 2024, David Tan was promoted to glory after a 10-month cancer fight. In November 2023, God granted him about a 2-month period when he was not so sick. Amongst the many significant things God allowed to happen during that time, David planned this conference: emailed keynote speakers and workshop leaders, and made venue reservations. Some of you may remember that at the 7th Conference, April 2023, we were seeking God regarding the future of AMCN, being unsure that the 8th Conference 2025 would even materialize.
Well, here we are! It is my honor and privilege to present to you the 8th AMCN 2025 Conference – Ministry and Sacrifice: Sustainable Service.
Missionaries give their all to fullfil the call of obedience in the field, learning a new language and culture. Together with home assignment, packed with traveling at least 1.5 hours schedule; living in a different home each night – really missionaries have two full-time, 24/7 jobs. Drs. Lois and Larry Dodds’ (Heartstream Resources) reported that
missionaries peaked at a 600 stress level year after year (normal level is 200).
Our hope and prayer is that the keynote speaker, Scott Shaum, and the various workshops will help all of us to pause, hear, reflect, and to live God’s call in our lives for the long haul, in sustainable and kingdom service for the Glory of God!

The conference focus on:
- Care for NGOs (Non-Government
- Encouragement for professional and personal growth spiritually, mentally, and emotionally
- Organizations)
- Proactive and preventive response to NGOs’ needs
- Partnership with all involved in care giving to NGOs
The Asia Member Care Network is a loose network of people working in Asia as Care Providers for non government and humanitarian organizations. Membership is by participation in the bi-annual conference as well as country-specific meetings. Members agree and sign the network code of conduct and the best practice document.
The conference exists to build, encourage, equip, and network Member Care Providers in a supportive environment.
